Refund Policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026.
The short version
- Cancel any time: your subscription stays active until the end of the paid billing period, then stops.
- After you start using the VPN: we do not refund the remainder of the paid billing period.
- If you have not used the VPN: you can request a goodwill refund during the 14 days after purchase.
What “used” means
Your subscription counts as used the first time you connect to a SimplyRoam VPN server from any device or, on desktop, the first time you download a configuration file. Buying a subscription on its own does not count as use.
How to request a goodwill refund
Send a message via our contact form from the address on your account, with your subscription public id (visible in your account portal, looks like ent_xxxxxxxxxxxx). We aim to process approved refunds within 5 working days back to the original payment method.
Worked examples
- You buy a £69.99 annual plan, change your mind the same day, and you have not connected or downloaded a configuration file: you can request a goodwill refund.
- You buy a £7.99 rolling monthly plan, connect on day 1, and cancel on day 20: your VPN access stays active until the monthly billing period ends, then stops.
- You buy a £69.99 annual plan, connect on day 30, and cancel on day 60: your VPN access stays active until the annual billing period ends, then stops.
Your statutory cancellation right (UK)
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel a digital services contract bought online. By using SimplyRoam VPN inside that 14-day window you expressly request that the service start immediately and acknowledge that this waives the 14-day cooling-off right for the portion of the service you have used. This policy does not replace your statutory rights.
App Store / Play Store subscribers
If you bought via the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by us, because they collect the money on our behalf. Use Apple’s “Report a Problem” page or Google Play’s refund flow.
Sustained outages
If a sustained service outage prevented you using the VPN for 24 hours or more, contact us and we may credit your account.
Failed payment
If a renewal payment fails, we email you and Stripe retries over the following days. If the payment ultimately fails, your subscription expires at the end of the period you last paid for, with no further charge and no refund owed by either side.
